Black Bean Burger

Serves 4

306 Cals. 48g Carbs, 16g Protein, 5g Fat.

Try serving these wrapped in greens rather than on a hamburger bun.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans black beans

  • ¼ cup white onion, grated

  • 1 egg

  • ½ cup carrots, grated

  • ½ cup whole wheat bread crumbs

  • ½ tsp chili powder

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tsp siracha sauce

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 tbsp avocado or olive oil

Instructions:

1.     Mash black beans with a fork in a bowl.

2.     Add onion, egg, carrots, breadcrumbs, seasonings, and sriracha. Mix well.

3.     Form into 4 patties.

4.     Heat olive oil in skillet on medium high heat and cook burgers one by one for about 5 minutes per side or until cooked through.
