RESPONSIBILITIES
Coaching Leadership
Lead and instruct group classes, ensuring high-quality coaching standards by emphasizing seeing and correcting, teaching, demonstrating, group management, and presence and attitude.
Lead class programming that aligns with the gym’s mission and values, ensuring safety and effectiveness for all fitness levels. Effectively communicate programming phases and intentions to coaching staff and members.
Mentor and train junior coaches, providing regular feedback, encouragement, and supporting their professional development.
Conduct quarterly performance evaluations with coaching staff to facilitate growth.
Implement specialty programs, workshops, or clinics that align with member interests and needs.
Attend and contribute to scheduled coach/employee meetings.
2. Member Engagement and Community Building
Be an advocate for ECF’s mission and values in all gym and community interactions. Be a role model for sustainable habits in nutrition and fitness, participating in group classes, and prioritizing personal health.
Cultivate a welcoming and supportive environment for all members, fostering strong relationships and community spirit.
Lead and promote gym initiatives, nutrition programs, community events, challenges, and competitions.
Address member concerns and inquiries promptly, ensuring an exceptional member experience.
Assist with member onboarding and support strategies to enhance member retention and satisfaction through personalized communication and feedback.
Review class attendance and member feedback to continuously improve programming and member experience.
3. Administrative and Operational
Collaborate with management on relevant business operations, including budgeting, marketing, sales, and member engagement.
Assist with scheduling and managing class registrations through gym management software.
Maintain accurate records of class attendance, member progress, and coaching evaluations.
Maintain clean and organized facilities, and support equipment maintenance.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
4. Personal Development
Continually seek out personal and professional growth through formal and informal opportunities, including certifications, books, feedback, courses, etc.

Focus on consistently elevating coaching professionalism via continued education, coach’s development sessions, 360 degree feedback, and ECF’s 1-on-1 coach evaluations
Education & Experience
Minimum CF-L1 with 2+ years of coaching experience
In depth knowledge of functional fitness, health, and nutrition
In depth knowledge and skill in leading group classes
High level interpersonal, time management and organizational skills - professional mindset
Strong leadership skills and inspires action in those around them - lead by example
Creative thinking, dispute resolution and finely honed problem-solving skills
Knowledge of basic computer applications and willing to learn.
Compensation and Benefits:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience, starting at $22-$25 per hour, plus optional personal training ($50+/hour) or nutrition coaching income. The compensation offered is in alignment with hours worked and based on several factors including years of experience, positive performance, and overall expertise.
